Pas’ first 100 days of running Terengganu is smooth, says MB

KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu Menteri Besar Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has described Pas’ first 100 days of administration of the state as smooth.

He said this was because the most fundamental factor of the administration was to ensure that the people’s harmony was preserved and was supported through the move to stimulate the state’s economy and its development.

“This is a clear indication that the relationship between the people and the state will be strengthened with each state exco and elected representative taking action after they meet the people.

“The elected representatives also take constructive criticism seriously, which they receive through social media,” he said after a get-together with members of the state media here on Wednesday night.

On the implementation of the 14th General Election (GE14) manifesto, he said out of the 20 pledges made to people in the election, some could not be implemented in one or two years.

He added that two committees had been established to realise the implementation of Pas’ GE14 manifesto.

The first involves implementation, comprising governmental machinery and personnel, and the second involves monitoring the implementation.

“I am confident that we will implement it one by one, even though it takes time.

“As an example, we are opening application for land lots in the state for those who are qualified.”

Samsuri said following GE14, the state government was giving 20 cubic metres of free water to the poor in the state who had registered with the E-Kasih database and those who used more than the allocated amount would need to pay only for the extra.

He said the state government would implement the free marriage programme for the second time in November.
