‘PH govt has failed to fulfil pledges’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno has dismissed Pakatan Harapan’s 100-day administration, saying that most election pledges have not been fulfilled.

Its information chief, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s statement that the five years given to the new government would not be enough to fix Barisan Nasional’s wrongdoings, as well as his deputy, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s statement that PH should not apologise for not fulfilling all its promises, showed PH’s failure to implement its GE14 pledges.

He questioned whether Dr Mahathir’s experience was insufficient for PH to implement the pledges.

“The failure shows that a strong team is required to administer the country.”

He said PH’s inability to implement some of the pledges was due to Dr Mahathir being surrounded by those who were inexperienced.

“The fact is, many who voted for PH are waiting to have the promises fulfilled.

“It is unfortunate that there is no clear planning or direction on how the PH government wants to resolve problems faced by the people.”

Shamsul said the people were worried about PH’s failure to address the increase in prices of goods, which affected the lowincome group and smallholders.

“What is clear is the attitude of blaming the previous government to cover PH’s weakness. Such an attitude cannot be continued and the people would like to see how the new policies (by PH) would ease their burden.”
