IF you want to get better fast, better see your own doctor first. That seems to be what Pahang footballers Issey Nakajima-Farran and Patrick Cruz are doing,

Injuries have sidelined them from today’s Malaysia Cup match against Perak’s PKNP FC at the Batu Kawan Stadium in Penang.

Canadian winger Issey is struggling with a hamstring injury suffered during Pahang’s 2-0 win over Selangor last week. Brazilian forward Patrick has a groin strain from the FA Cup final last month.

Both the players have decided to fork out their own money to undergo treatment at a private rehabilitation centre in Kuala Lumpur in order to recover faster from their injuries.

Pahang coach Dollah Salleh said Issey and Patrick have been given the green light to seek rehabilitation treatment to recover for the match against PKNP FC in Kuantan on Aug 25.

“They are very eager to play in the Malaysia Cup competition. That is the reason why they decided to pay for their own rehabilitation treatment,” said Dollah.

The coach said after a quiet start against Sabah (1-1), his players regained their form against Selangor last week and are in the right frame of mind to face PKNP FC.

Tomorrow, FA Cup champions Pahang will play PKNP for the fifth time (Having played twice in the Super League and twice in the FA Cup semi-final where Pahang registered a 3-2 aggregate win).

The match between PKNP FC and Pahang was moved to Batu Kawan Stadium as the Perak Stadium is closed for repairs for next month’s Malaysia Games.
