The latest Fitbit Smartwatch may be all you need to keep up with your fitness regime, writes Nur Zarina Othman

BEING healthy is more than just watching what you eat and exercising. Fitbit’s latest addition to its family of device, the Fitbit Versa, allows a more detailed monitoring of health. Versa is Fitbit’s lightest metal smartwatch, featuring a modern design, advanced health and fitness features, fourplus days battery life, smart features and cross platform compatibil­ity.

Powered by Fitbit OS 2.0 , Versa features a redesigned dashboard, which makes your daily and weekly health and fitness data even more accessible on-the-go and delivers action-oriented motivation­al messages, tips and tricks, and support to help you stay on track to reach your goals.

For those who are into fitness, its advanced health and fitness features wll give them a better understand­ing of their progress in reaching their target.

These include personalis­ed on-device workouts with Fitbit Coach, enhanced 24/7 PurePulse heart rate tracking, 15+ exercise modes plus automatic SmartTrack swim tracking with water resistance up to 50m and automatic sleep stages tracking.

This is cool. This watch can track your sleep pattern.

It may be a bit uncomforta­ble having to wear the watch all day long but it has some benefits.

The app provides detailed sleep insight on your sleep pattern like your average sleep and type of sleep — deep, light and REM. This gives your a better understand­ing of your resting time.

FEMALE HEALTH

the tracking of the menstrual cycle and symptoms for a more complete picture of health and fitness data all in one place.

Users will be able to view female health tracking informatio­n on-device.

Just key in a few vital informatio­n like your period pattern, and the smart monitoring will not only store your cycle, it will also record symptoms and make comparison with other stats like sleeping pattern, weight and cycle irregulari­ties.

For those planning a family, the app also records and botifies ovulating periods based on your own cycle.

With numerous options for strap, the Fitbit Versa is not only suitable in an active environmen­t but also a stylish wearable.

With a quick change, your Versa is ready for a more elegant event. Versa’s classic band is made of flexible, durable materials with aluminium case and buckle making the smartwatch light enough for an allday-wear.

The rectangula­r watch face is also changeable via the Fitbit app. The touchscree­n and colour LCD display promise a more stylish outlook to the wearer too.

HARDY

Getting a smartwatch wet is a worry.

However, the Fitbit Versa is not only water- and sweat-resistant, but also rainand water-resistant up to 50m.

It can also can detect swimming laps, duration and calories burnt during my pool laps.

LIKES

The smartwatch not only makes me conscious of the number of my heartbeats, but I also learn to control my breathing whenever my heart is beating a little faster than its normal rate.

The watch makes me more in tune with my body. I know whether I’m pushing myself hard enough at each workout.

The watch face is a plus point because it is big enough for a quick glance at the statistics and the colour LCD screen makes the content look more vivid.
