PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied there is a plot to prevent him from becoming prime minister.

As such he has advised Kapar member of parliament Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid to correct his statement regarding such a plot.

Anwar said such a “correction” was necessary as failure to do so could lead to things being blown out of proportion.

“He linked the plot to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“Tun M(ahathir) and I have no problems (between us), so I advise (Abdullah Sani) to correct his statement before it gets out of hand.

“I have already told him... let him settle it.

“I am not sure whether he has written a letter or not, but I have advised him to correct it.

“That statement is not true at all. It is baseless to connect Tun M which such things,” he said after a court case at the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday.

Abdullah Sani had recently declared support for PKR vicepresident Rafizi Ramli and claimed that Dr Mahathir and Council of Eminent Persons head Tun Daim Zainuddin were plotting with PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to prevent Anwar from becoming the next prime minister.

Azmin will be defending his post against Rafizi in the upcoming PKR polls.
