IGP: Cops told of many versions of incident

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are actively investigating and trying to locate the Radioactive Dispersal Device (RDD) that has been missing since Aug 10.

However, InspectorGeneral of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said there were “many versions” of the incident received by police.

“For now, we can’t di- vulge any information. However, we have recorded statements from several people. We remanded the two technicians who were transport-

ing the device, though they have since been released,” he said.

He said police had yet to determine if the device had been stolen.

Fuzi said he could not reveal information on the device’s whereabouts as it could compromise investigations and the search for the RDD.

In Shah Alam, Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said: “I can confirm that a police report was lodged and that investigations are ongoing.”
