PepsiCo pays US$3.2b for SodaStream

GENEVA: PepsiCo said it agreed to buy SodaStream Internatio­nal Ltd for US$3.2 billion (RM13.12 billion) to gain the Israeli company’s athome soft-drink-making technology. PepsiCo would pay US$144 a share in cash, said the companies yesterday. The purchase will probably be the last big move by PepsiCo chief executive officer Indra Nooyi, who said this month she was stepping down as head of the beverage company after 12 years in the job.
