PIDM scholarships for 21 to pursue undergraduate studies locally

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) has awarded scholarships to 21 students recently to pursue their undergraduate studies locally.

Its chief executive officer Rafiz Azuan Abdullah said the PIDM Undergraduate Scholarship Programme aimed to support deserving young people by providing the financial support for them to pursue and complete their tertiary education.

“Through this programme, we recognise and invest in their potential as future leaders and ambassadors of PIDM,” he said.

He added that academic merit and financial background formed the most important selection criteria, with nearly all the recipients coming from households with incomes below RM2,000.

Aside from financial support, PIDM employees with the relevant professional experience will mentor scholars and provide them with guidance and coaching throughout their study.

Established in 2010, the PIDM Undergraduate Scholarship Programme is a bond-free scholarship covering tuition fees, living expenses and study materials.

Scholars are selected based on academic and extracurricular achievements, communication skills, maturity and potential leadership qualities, and access to financial support.
