An established college with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare education, it provides quality education guided by experienced clinical educators.
One of its most popular programmes is nursing. The college’s nursing graduates received a 99 per cent pass rate in registration examinations held by the Malaysian Nursing Board.
In collaboration with University of Hertfordshire, the college is now offering the BSc (Hons) Contemporary Nursing 2+0 programme.
It is a post-registration nursing degree for practising registered nurses, who have successfully completed Diploma in Nursing approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
The programme is structured to help students achieve their maximum potential. In each semester, students will attend an approximately three-week study course at the college, where they will be taught theories relevant to nursing practices by University of Hertfordshire lecturers. Upon completion of the study course, students will return to clinical practice for the remainder of the semester.
For SPM school leavers, the Diploma in Nursing course has been designed to provide graduates with the knowledge, skill and competence required to be a confident and caring nurse.
The course prepares graduates for the challenges of the healthcare industry in nursing sciences, health sciences and behavioural sciences. Students will experience learning through classes, laboratory work and via clinical placements.
For their clinical competencies, students will be posted to hospitals such as those owned by the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Group to enable them to nurse patients with general conditions and diseases.
They will also experience nursing in the community and in mental health institutions. The students will be supervised, guided and mentored by experienced and committed lecturers at the college and by competent and dedicated clinical instructors in the clinical areas.
Working nurses can enrol in a sixmonth Post-Basic in Critical Care Nursing, Renal Nursing, Oncology Nursing, and Perioperative Nursing programmes. Students of Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College benefit from the opportunity to experience the working environment, locally and internationally.
They have the advantage of learning from three hospitals in Malaysia (Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Ara Damansara Medical Centre and Parkcity Medical Centre). They have opportunity for attachements with Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare hospitals in Australia and Indonesia via its association with several hospitals in the region.
The college was awarded the 6Star Outstanding Rating by the Higher Education Ministry in the MyQUEST 2016/2017 quality rating of colleges.
There are three intakes in a year, in April, July and October. Registration is currently open for the October intakes. The college is open from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
