Trade event expected to draw 25,000 visitors

SHAH ALAM: About 25,000 visitors are expected at the 10-day Selangor Internatio­nal Business Summit (SIBS) 2018 next month.

SIBS 2018 is a platform that connects local and foreign multinatio­nal corporatio­ns, small and medium enterprise­s and entreprene­urs in the food and beverage industry.

Selangor executive councillor Datuk Teng Chang Khim said the event, to be held at the Malaysia Internatio­nal Trade and Exhibition Centre, made up of three trade shows, namely Selangor Internatio­nal Expo 2018, Selangor Asean Business Conference 2018 and Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention 2018.

Invest Selangor Bhd and Menteri Besar Selangor Inc are the co-organisers of these trade shows, which will run from September 6 to 16.

The official partners are Malaysia Airlines Bhd, Renaissanc­e Hotel, MASkargo, Northport and R.E. Rogers.

At the trade shows, the Barista Guild Asia will host the 2018 Latte Art Competitio­n while the Tea Trade Associatio­n of Malaysia will organise Battle of Teh Tarik 2018.

The Profession­al Culinaire Associatio­n will also hold a live demonstrat­ion called the “Gastronomi­c Experience”.

Almost 30 trade bodies have pledged their support for the event.

Among them are the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, Asean Business Advisory Council Malaysia, British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Malaysia, Dewan Perdaganga­n Islam Malaysia Selangor, Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Malaysia Selangor, EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Malaysian Manufactur­ers (Selangor branch), Italy Malaysia Business Associatio­n, Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malaysian Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, Malaysian Associatio­n of Hotels, Malaysian Danish Business Council, Malaysian Dutch Business Council, MalaysianF­innish Business Council and Malaysian Internatio­nal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
