People advised to use public transport
of the public who want to attend the 2018 National Day celebrations are encouraged to use public transport.
Information Department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, who is the chairman of media and publicity for the 2018 National Day celebrations committee, said by doing so, they would ease congestion.
“We have parking facilities with a capacity of about 6,000. It is wise to take public transport to Putrajaya by taking the free bus ride, which starts from 6am to 2pm.”
He said those who wished to use this service could do so at several bus stops.
The route for bus stop A is from Putrajaya Sentral-MyFarm in Presint 7-Ayer 8-Kiblat Walk; bus top B (from the Housing and Local Government Ministry in Presint 4-Higher Education Ministry in Presint 5-Taman Seri Empangan-Lebuh Wadi Ehsan-behind palace of Justice); and bus stop C (from Park & Ride in Presint 14-Complex E-Lebuh Perdana Selatan-Lebuh Bestaribehind palace of Justice).
Ibrahim said 502 media practitioners, including 10 foreign news agencies, would provide coverage for the celebrations.
“We provide a media centre at the Cempaka Sari Auditorium in Presint 3, which started operations since yesterday Tuesday).
“The centre is equipped with a work space and Internet connection. We also provide a facility to share pictures taken by our on-duty officers.”
