MAN DIES AFTER LORRY COLLIDES WITH CAR

Victim’s wife and daughter injured, warded at Raub Hospital

AMAN died when the car he was travelling in with his wife and two children was involved in an accident at Km329 of Jalan Kota Baru-Kuala Lumpur near Kampung Sega here, yesterday.

Raub district police chief Superinten­dent Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said the victim was identified as Shaibol Whasilah Mamat, 53.

In the 5.45am incident, Shaibol Whasilah’s wife, Norizan Ali, 48, and their 19-yearold daughter Najmulhuda Shaibol Whasilah were injured.

“The couple’s other daughter, Najmatul Husna Shaibol Whasilah, 6, was not injured.”

He said based on initial investigat­ions, the victim’s car collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction.

“The lorry driver was believed to have lost control of his vehicle

before entering the opposite lane and hitting the car driven by the victim.

“The victim (Shaibol Whashilah) was pronounced dead at the scene due to head injuries.

“His wife and daughter are receiving treatment at Raub Hospital,” he said.

Wan Zahari said the lorry driver did not sustain any injuries and his statement had been recorded to assist in investigat­ions.

The case is being investigat­ed under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
