‘Tap into social media, stay informed’

-

KUALA NERUS: Delegates at the 64th Pas Muktamar have been urged to tap into social media.

“Everyone must have an account on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube,” party information chief Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi said yesterday.

“Everyone must download WhatsApp and master it.

“We have to be patient, like how we’ve been patient in our struggle. The fight in the cyber world also requires patience.”

He said it was important to join political groups on WhatsApp to stay informed and up to date.

However, he said, cyber warriors should not use social media to spread unverified or false information.

Nasruddin said the minds of the youth were being shaped by what they read on social media.

But he did not discount the fact that some youth might still be reading newspapers.

In his policy speech, Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said failure to adequately use social media was among the weaknesses of the party’s campaign in the 14th General Election.
