SYED SADDIQ READY TO ASSIST ANWAR

Bersatu Youth chief says he will help ensure Anwar’s victory in PD by-election

-

PARTI Pribumi Bersatu (Bersatu) Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said he is ready to campaign in the Port Dickson by-election to ensure a big victory for Pakatan Harapan.

He said PH’s candidate, PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, must be supported so that he would be triumphant.

“Before the 14th General Election, I, as a member of the Pakatan Harapan presidential council, knew that there was a written agreement on the transition of power from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to Anwar, and this was agreed to by all parties.

“As a young man, I do not want to break a promise, especially one that is in black and white,” he said after attending the “Unlocking The Power Of Young People” progamme here yesterday.

He denied that was a movement to boycott Anwar’s campaign in Port Dickson in Bersatu, especially among Youth members.

Incumbent Port Dickson member of parliament Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah, of PKR, on Wednesday announced that he was vacating his seat to give way to Anwar, who is slated to succeed Dr Mahathir as the eighth prime minister.
