SMAPUTRA to be relocated to Presint 11

-

PUTRAJAYA: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Putrajaya, or SMAPUTRA, will be relocated permanently to Presint 11 here starting next year.

The new building, which will comprise 25 classrooms with a capacity of 750 students, and its other facilities, will be fully completed by the end of next month.

“Other facilities comprise a hostel block, an administration block, an academic block, a laboratory, a dining hall, a multipurpose hall, a surau, a field, and the principal’s and warden’s house,” Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik said yesterday.

He said SMAPUTRA would be the second secondary religious school in the Federal Territory after Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Kuala Lumpur, to utilise the “Ulul Albab Tahfiz Model” TMUA curriculum concept, which began last year.

“With its permanent premises, it is hoped that the school could meet the need of religious education for children from the Putrajaya community and the surrounding areas.”

Maszlee said SMAPUTRA conducted two streams: SMKA Curriculum for Form 3 to Form 5 and for Form 1 and 2.

SMAPUTRA operates and shares building with SMK Presint 11 (2), which houses 521 students and 77 teachers.

“SMAPUTRA’s relocation to its own building will enable better teaching and learning environment for teachers and students of the school.”
