THE New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd’s (NSTP) MyRumah property showcase has recorded RM38 million in sales since it was launched last year.

NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil Hamid said the amount was derived from the sale of 91 property units by developers during a series of exhibitions nationwide.

MyRumah, he said, was a corporate social responsibility programme introduced by NSTP, which featured experts providing advice and tips on buying properties for free to visitors.

“Following overwhelming response from potential housebuyers, we are looking forward to the next MyRumah showcase, which will be making its final stop in Ipoh, Perak, at the end of the year.

“It is our hope to get the support and cooperation of state governments to organise the exhibition in the respective states.

“This is because the showcase features eight experts in the property sector, who will share their knowledge in property investments to benefit the people,” he said at the launch of the fourth series of MyRumah 2018 at Mahkota Parade here yesterday.

The showcase was launched by state Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman Tey Kok Kiew.

Present were NSTP advertising general manager Roche Chew and NSTP region advertising and sales manager S. Linggaraj.

The three-day showcase here featured nine developers of various affordable housing projects, offering units from as low as RM232,000.

Jalil said the MyRumah 2018 received more than 35,000 visitors during its three showcases in Shah Alam, Sungai Petani and Johor Baru.

“Apart from offering attractive units of houses, this event also serves as a one-stop platform for potential housebuyers,” he said.

The showcase is expected to draw more than 15,000 visitors.
