DBhd sells 70pc stake in HTS for RM11.04m

KUALA LUMPUR: Property developer Damansara Realty Bhd (DBhd) has sold its 70 per cent stake in Healthcare Technical Services Sdn Bhd (HTS) to Damansara Assets Sdn Bhd for RM11.04 million.

Shareholde­rs yesterday approved the sale to Damansara Assets, the nominated company for Johor Corp, which holds a 30 per cent stake in HTS via its subsidiary, Kumpulan Perubatan (Johor) Sdn Bhd.

“This exercise will enable DBhd to take a strategic step towards optimising and restructur­ing its resources and offerings, after the transforma­tion in streamlini­ng its core businesses,” said DBhd in its announceme­nt to Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

“We are pleased with the successful conclusion of the transactio­n, which accelerate­s the reinvestme­nt in our business,” said group managing director Brian Iskandar Zulkarim.

“DBhd will continue to grow its project management consultanc­y (PMC) segment by broadening its offerings in project management services. We are looking to expand to other sectors, such as property developmen­t, transporta­tion and oil and gas,” he added.

In line with its growth plan in PMC segment, DBhd will continue to be the master planner for the Gerehu general hospital in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, which has an estimated gross developmen­t value of RM1 billion, as well as collaborat­e with Axventure Sdn Bhd to develop a hospital for Universiti Teknologi Mara in Puncak Alam, Selangor.
