DBhd sells 70pc stake in HTS for RM11.04m

KUALA LUMPUR: Prop­erty de­vel­oper Da­mansara Realty Bhd (DBhd) has sold its 70 per cent stake in Health­care Tech­ni­cal Ser­vices Sdn Bhd (HTS) to Da­mansara As­sets Sdn Bhd for RM11.04 mil­lion.

Share­hold­ers yes­ter­day ap­proved the sale to Da­mansara As­sets, the nom­i­nated com­pany for Jo­hor Corp, which holds a 30 per cent stake in HTS via its sub­sidiary, Kumpu­lan Peru­batan (Jo­hor) Sdn Bhd.

“This ex­er­cise will en­able DBhd to take a strate­gic step to­wards op­ti­mis­ing and re­struc­tur­ing its re­sources and of­fer­ings, af­ter the trans­for­ma­tion in stream­lin­ing its core busi­nesses,” said DBhd in its an­nounce­ment to Bursa Malaysia yes­ter­day.

“We are pleased with the suc­cess­ful con­clu­sion of the trans­ac­tion, which ac­cel­er­ates the rein­vest­ment in our busi­ness,” said group man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Brian Iskan­dar Zulka­rim.

“DBhd will con­tinue to grow its project man­age­ment con­sul­tancy (PMC) seg­ment by broad­en­ing its of­fer­ings in project man­age­ment ser­vices. We are look­ing to ex­pand to other sec­tors, such as prop­erty devel­op­ment, trans­porta­tion and oil and gas,” he added.

In line with its growth plan in PMC seg­ment, DBhd will con­tinue to be the mas­ter plan­ner for the Gerehu gen­eral hos­pi­tal in Port Moresby, Pa­pua New Guinea, which has an es­ti­mated gross devel­op­ment value of RM1 bil­lion, as well as col­lab­o­rate with Axven­ture Sdn Bhd to de­velop a hos­pi­tal for Univer­siti Te­knologi Mara in Pun­cak Alam, Se­lan­gor.
