MUSTAPHA KAMIL RETURNS TO MEDIA PRIMA
He is new news and editorial operations executive director
MEDIA Prima Bhd has announced the appointment of Mustapha Kamil Mohd Janor as its news and editorial operations executive director.
It also announced that Mustapha Kamil had been appointed to the boards of Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Bhd and the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) effective yesterday.
As executive director, Mustapha Kamil will be responsible for the overall operations of Media Prima news and editorial functions.
The group, in a statement yesterday, said: “He will provide the strategic direction and oversight of Media Prima Television Networks and NSTP news operations, and will focus on optimising the group’s news resources in line with Media Prima’s business transformation efforts.
“He reports to Media Prima’s group managing director.”
Mustapha Kamil, 57, brings with him 26 years of experience in journalism.
He began his career as a cadet reporter at NSTP in 1989 and held various positions in the company, including NSTP foreign correspondent in New York, Business Times managing editor and the New Straits Times group editor until his resignation in May 2016.
