ANY complaint or dissatisfaction with the PKR election process should be brought to the party’s election committee so it can investigate the matter.

PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said any candidate with complaints should file a complaint, and leave it to the committee to investigate.

He said candidates should not interfere with the affairs of the election committee.

“If there are any complaints, I am confident that the election committee will investigate.

“There is not just one complaint, but many complaints that have been received by the committee... Let it investigate.

“I have not pressured any party (to do anything) as this is an election within the PKR family, and it must be done in a proper, orderly manner.

“There should not be any tension as this could disrupt the harmony within the party,” he said at the “Malaysia Baharu” debate held in conjunction with the PKR elections on Monday.

Present were PKR vice-president Tian Chua, Wanita PKR chief Zuraida Kamaruddin and party vice-president hopeful Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

Azmin was commenting on allegations of impropriety in the Labis PKR branch election in Johor.

His challenger for the No. 2 party post, Rafizi Ramli, called for the party election committee to declare the results in Labis null and void, claiming that some election committee monitors interfered with the election there by casting votes for other members.

In the election in Johor, Azmin reportedly received 4,503 votes to Rafizi’s 3,976.

It was also reported that Azmin received slightly more votes in Penang — 3,326 votes to Rafizi’s 3,150.
