This ticks all the right boxes
I LOVE it when I find a good product that ticks all the right boxes for me, and dUCk’s latest addition to its cosmetics collection, the All Covered Make-Up Foundation, has almost all the criteria I look for in a liquid foundation.
Finding the right foundation to match your skin tone can be a real hassle at times. Sometimes, the colour may blend perfectly well with our skin tone, but we may not like the texture and vice versa. Others may provide a matte finish but may not be long-lasting, for example.
I am intrigued by the signature dark purple packaging of the dUCk foundation. It comes in a tube, topped with a rose gold pump. Slim and light — which is how I like it as it is easy to carry when travelling.
The range comes in six shades, from the lightest to the most tanned — 01 Macadamia, 02 Almond, 03 Cashew, 04 Pecan, 05 Walnut and 06 Chestnut. I try the 04 Pecan, the one said to be most suitable for skin tones with a slightly darker shade and a yellow undertone.
As I pump it onto my fingers I assume the shade is a little too light for my skin. The product provides medium coverage that’s buildable for full coverage, but because I’m not one to smooth layers of foundation onto my skin, I just pump once and spread it across one side of my face to see the difference it brings when I blend it.
I’ve tried a few foundations from other local beauty brands but found them hard to blend and drying. But this All Covered Make-Up Foundation has a lightweight texture and blends easily, even when you use your fingers. This product is enriched with vitamin C for light protection from sun damage and vitamin E to help delay the appearance of wrinkles so that’s a winner.
It provides enough coverage to hide dark circles under my eyes without having to blend in an extra layer of concealer. Immediately after applying, it did look a little light for my skin tone, but once it had oxidised, the result was satisfying.
Overall, I give this product a thumbs up even though I think it’s a little pricey (it costs RM115).
