BAM in talks with three coaches for top post

-

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) are in talks with three candidates for the coaching director post.

BAM general manager, Michelle Chai said yesterday a final decision could be made soon in the next couple of weeks.

“Yes, we are holding talks with three candidates for the position. What I can say now is that we are in the final phase of making a decision.

“Once a decision is reached, we will present it to the council for approval,” said Michelle.

BAM, however, are still tight lipped on who the three individuals are.

“Like I have mentioned earlier, we are still in talks. It won’t be nice to reveal any names right now. Once a decision is made, we will make an official announcement,” added Michelle.

On Tuesday, NSTP Sport reported that former Indonesia BA technical director, Rexy Mainaky, was considering a comeback, if he is offered the post.

Rexy, who was previously BAM doubles chief coach from 2005-2012, is currently the high performance director with the Thai national team.

On Sept 20, BAM president, Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria said the Indonesian was shortlisted for the top post.
