WIKILEAKS has dismissed claims that it published details of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s so-called millions stashed in offshore accounts.

In its tweets, the whistleblower site said it had not published anything on Anwar’s bank accounts.

“WikiLeaks has published information about Malaysian politicians but not Mr (Anwar) Ibrahim’s bank accounts.

“Claims spread in Malaysia that @WikiLeaks published @anwaribrahim’s bank account details are false.”

“Liang Tech (Teck) Meng is pushing a fabrication,” it said yesterday.

In a report published by The Coverage, Gerakan’s former Simpang Renggam member of parliament, Liang Teck Meng, claimed that according to WikiLeaks, Anwar had numerous accounts in the United States, Singapore, China and Israel.

Liang was reported as saying that WikiLeaks had published details of the accounts’ owner, status, passport number, types of bank accounts, dates the accounts were opened as well as their maturity dates.

The report listed details of the alleged 20 accounts.

However, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the claim was made in 2013.

He said PKR would act against those who spread unverified information on social media to discredit Anwar in the run-up to the Port Dickson by-election.
