THE top management of Media Prima Bhd (MPB) took part in the “McDonald’s Turun Padang Day” programme here yesterday to show appreciation for restaurant crew members by working with them.

They included MPB group managing director Datuk Kamal Khalid, Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar and Media Prima TV Networks sales and strategy director Nini Yusof.

Three hundred McDonald’s Malaysia franchisees and business partners took part in the programme at 100 restaurant outlets nationwide.

The programme required volunteers to serve customers to understand what it took to deliver “feel-good” moments.

Kamal, who was stationed at the McCafe counter, said everyone should experience working behind a fast-food restaurant counter at least once in their lifetime.

“I now understand that it is not easy to work behind the counter because you are required to serve the customers in a short amount of time.”

Ahmad Izham, who was stationed at the French fries section, said the restaurant’s working environment allowed employees to work as a team.

“Each crew member coordinates his duty as a team player in a systematic manner.

“I am happy to be a part of the team and would love to take part in the programme again next year.”

Present were McDonald’s Malaysia local operating partner and managing director Azmir Jaafar, and TV3 personality Farah Nabila.

The McDonald’s Turun Padang programme is held annually to celebrate and recognise the hard work of its 12,000-strong restaurant crew members in Malaysia.
