Undergrad charged with fraudulent concealmen­t

SEREMBAN: A university undergradu­ate was on Friday charged with two counts of fraudulent concealmen­t of money in his bank account two months ago.

Mohamad Fahmi Talib, 22, pleaded not guilty to the charge read before magistrate V. Vanita.

For the first offence, the accused was charged with dishonest concealmen­t of RM3,500 in his CIMB account deposited by Mohd Rizal Che Ayob, 42 at Bandar Seremban, at 9am on Aug 4.

He was also charged with dishonest concealmen­t of RM1,500 in the same account deposited by the man at 11.06am at the same location and date.

He was charged under Section 424 of the Penal Code which also carries a maximum penalty of five years’ jail and a fine.

The court set bail at RM4,000 and fixed Oct 23 for mention.

Prosecutio­n was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor­s Mohamad Azriff Firdaus Mohamad Ali and Nur Atiqah Sapari while the accused was unrepresen­ted.
