JOHOR BARU: Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SAC), a wholly-owned unit of MMC Group, is confident of attracting more local and foreign investors, especially from the world’s leading multinational corporation, to operate at its industrial park.

General manager Gan Seng Keong said the integrated industrial park, which is focusing on attracting high-technology industries, is currently being developed to meet business needs and standards.

With its location near Senai International Airport and Changi Airport in Singapore, as well as three major highways, this gives SAC the added advantage and easy accessible to local and international business communities.

“We are aiming to strengthen SAC’s position to be an investor centre in five key segments that focuses on logistics, food, high technology and green, electrical and electronic production as well as aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

“The SAC, which will be fully completed by 2025, involves a 1,099ha development area for industrial and commercial zones and independent industries capable of generating economic spillover to Johor as well as Malaysia as a whole.

“Among the current completed infrastructure include SAC's main entrance, free zone for Customs inspection and a water storage centre, and supported by firms like I-Park and EcoWorld.

“To date, SAC has met with 12 MNC companies and local producers to establish operations in SAC,” Gan said during a media visit to SAC, here, yesterday.

The SAC also offers investors an edge in terms of its proximity to Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Johor Port in Pasir Gudang.

Overall, the SAC development will be implemented through five phases — the first two phases are for industries, the third phase for aerospace and MRO, while the rest are for mixed development.
