The 29-year-old is giving himself about three to four years to compete at the top. “30 to 32 is the peak for all fighters,” says Ting, adding: “So I still have some time left. And then after that I’ll see where my business is at and take it from there.”

“Taking it from there” might see Ting opening his own gym and being a coach. Or it could mean him having a construction business. But asked what his ultimate dream is, Ting confides, eyes shining: “I’d like to open an academy near the beach and just enjoy a balanced lifestyle. I want to be able to embrace the day and just bring light to everybody.”
