Ronda slams McGregor for violence in build-up to Nurmagomedov fight

-

LOS ANGELES: Ronda Rousey has slammed Conor McGregor following his defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov, claiming he crossed the line promoting the UFC 229 fight.

Ronda told TMZ Sports that no one should ever break the law to promote and sell an upcoming fight.

There were months of bad blood between McGregor and Khabib, with the Irishman having to undertake community service and anger management lessons after attacking the Russian's bus.

And Ronda, the former women's bantamweight champion in UFC, has called out McGregor for his acts of violence in the build up to the fight.

“I understand promoting fights and having to sell them. I really do,” Ronda said.

“But, I don't think people have to get arrested in order to do that.

“'I think I've been able to prove that you can make a fight exciting and make people really wanna see it without crossing any legal lines.”

Ronda also claimed that McGregor's bus attack was worse than Khabib's actions following his victory in Las Vegas last weekend at UFC 229.

“I think that Khabib jumping out of the Octagon was not as bad as throwing objects at a bus, because my friend Rose Namajunas was on that bus.

“My friend, Michael Chiesa, missed his fight because (he got cut by the glass).”
