Malaysia Airlines, Visa launch ‘Weekend Deals’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines entered into a strategic commercial partnership with Visa to offer customers travel promotions through its “MH Visa Weekend Deals”.

The promotion offers all Visa credit, debit and prepaid cardholders discounted fares for selected markets globally.

The partnership allows cardholders to enjoy additional discounts of up to 20 per cent for allinclusive fares on both business and economy class travel on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from now to January 13.

The promotion is available for ticket purchases made on www.malaysiaairlines.com/visa.

“We are very excited to embark on this partnership, with Malaysia Airlines being one of the first airlines in the Asia-Pacific region to collaborate with Visa on a signature weekend promotion for our customers,” said Malaysia Airlines Bhd’s chief executive officer Captain Izham Ismail.

He added that Visa was a globally-recognised brand used by almost all Malaysia Airlines customers and, hence, the partnership was very much in line with the airline’s goal to offer more value through innovative promotions and strategic partnerships.

Visa country manager for Malaysia Ng Kong Boon said travel was a popular activity among Malaysians.

He said the Global Travel Intentions study revealed that Malaysians had taken an average 5.4 international trips in the last two years, higher than Asia Pacific and global travellers on average.

“We also see from our data that air ticket purchase is one of the top categories in e-commerce transactions.

“We believe partnering Malaysia Airlines will greatly benefit our cardholders as they can now get access to a range of exciting travel deals through the MH Visa Weekend Deals,” he said.

Additionally, all deals include unlimited pieces of checked-in baggage within the 20kg for domestic and 30kg for international weight allowance on economy class, plus complimentary meals and in-flight entertainment.
