Rosmah, sons quizzed 3 hours

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and her sons, Riza Aziz and Mohd Norashman Najib, left the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Prevention (AMLA) Unit at Menara KPJ after being quizzed for about three hours.

The wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and her two sons gave the media, who were waiting for them at the lobby, the slip when they left the building via the back door at 1pm.

A source yesterday said the statement recording session had been completed.

Rosmah, Riza and Norashman arrived at the AMLA Unit office at 9.43am to have their statements recorded as part of investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.

This is the first time Rosmah has been called in by the AMLA Unit for 1MDB-related matters.

It is learnt that investigators are expected to question Rosmah further on issues relating to 1MDB, including on items seized from premises linked to her husband. In May, police raided six premises linked to Najib and seized cash, jewellery, luxury items and documents.

Early this month, Rosmah was charged with 17 money laundering and tax evasion offences involving RM7.097 million.
