Expedia records higher net income
WASHINGTON: Expedia Group Inc saw major growth in its vacation rental business HomeAway and higher travel bookings in the third quarter, helping it to beat Wall
Street’s profit estimates on Thursday. Expedia said customers spent 24 per cent more on HomeAway bookings and the business is headed for strong revenue and profit growth this year. Net income attributable to Expedia rose to US$525 million (RM2.2 billion) or US$3.43 per share in the quarter, from US$352 million or US$2.23 per share a year earlier.
