THREE men who consulted a monk to change their luck abducted the man when things did not go as promised. Their fate is now sealed as they have been arrested for abduction.

City Police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa said the men, aged between 31 and 40, sought the service of the monk to change their fate.

“However, the victim was said to have failed in his promises. As a result, the suspects abducted him to seek ransom to cover for the cost (of services).”

The suspects were detained in Sungai Pelek, Sepang, Selangor, at 4.40pm on Oct 18.

“The case is being investigated under Sections 326 and 365 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, and kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully confine a person,” he said at the High-Profile Policing programme in Taman OUG here yesterday.

It was reported that the victim was rescued by police three days after he was abducted in Kepong on Oct 15.

Meanwhile, Rusdi said police were conducting a thorough investigation into the loss of RM2 million worth of jewellery in Jalan Masjid India on Oct 18.

“We detained two men at the location where the items had been before they were reported missing.

“However, they were released within 24 hours after giving their statement.

“The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.”

He said the jewellery had yet to be found.

In the 2pm incident, the victim, believed to be a gold dealer, stopped at a goldsmith shop and discovered that the items placed in a Mazda CX-Crossover had disappeared.
