Man beats up wife for scratching his BMW

BUTTERWORT­H: A man had beaten up his wife mercilessl­y at an apartment here yesterday after finding that his car was scratched.

She needed three stitches for her injuries in the 5.15pm incident.

The 40-year-old woman was beaten in front of her mother, who tried to restrain him from hitting her.

Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commission­er Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the victim had used her husband’s BMW car and met with a minor accident, which resulted in the car being scratched.

“He slammed her head against the wall before fleeing from the scene.

“The victim received three stitches at Seberang Jaya Hospital. She also received treatment for the bruises she sustained following the incident,” he said.

The husband has two past records for assaulting his wife.

The police are tracking down the 42-year-old man.

The case is being investigat­ed under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntaril­y causing hurt.
