PERAK MB HEADS AWARDS LIST
285 people to be conferred awards in conjunction with ruler’s birthday
PERAK Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu heads the list of 285 recipients who will be conferred awards in conjunction with Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 62nd birthday celebration today.
Faizal will receive Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP), which carries the title Datuk Seri. Also receiving the award is Universiti Malaya Pro-Chancellor Toh Puan Datuk Seri Dr Aishah Ong. The Sultan will also award the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which carries the Datuk title, to 14 people.
They are Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) ViceChancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohammad Shatar Sabra, Foreign Ministry deputy secretary-general (bilateral affairs) Datuk Raja Nurshirwan Zainal Abidin, Perak Health Department director
Dr Ding Lay Ling, Perak Land and Mines Department director Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud, state Public Works Department director Ahameed Tarmizi Ramli and state Drainage and Irrigation Department director Dr Ahmad Anuar Othman.
Also receiving the DPMP is UM Dean of Law Faculty associate professor Datuk Dr Johan Shamsuddin Sabaruddin; private secretary to Sultan of Perak, Mohd Rasid Hussin Shah; and, Parti Amanah Negara Mursyidul Am, Datuk Seri Ahmad Awang.
Besides that, Jeffri Salim Davidson, Ho Kay Tat, Goh Seng Kuang, Datuk Shahriman Shamsuddin and Sinnathamby Senathi Rajah will also receive the DPMP.
Defence Ministry Defence Engineering Services Division director-general Brigadier-General Chapiti Redzuan and Police College Administration and Research Department head Senior Assistant Commissioner Sum Chang Keong will be awarded the Darjah Datuk Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS), which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan.
Two Perak-born former athletes are among 65 recipients of the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP).
The athletes are former national high jumper, Loo Kum Zee @ Loh Lum Zee, who was also chef de mission for the Perak Malaysia Games (Sukma) contingent and former archer, Mon Redee Sut Txi who represented the country between 1999 and 2007.
Six individuals will receive the Darjah Paduka Cura Simanja Kini (PCM), 23 the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP), 15 the Darjah Ahli Cura Simanja Kini (ACM), 72 the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), 82 the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and four the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP).
Meanwhile, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja, Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin, said the investiture ceremony for the SPMP, DPMP and DPTS awards would be held at Balairong Seri, Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar on Sunday.
He said a Yassin recitation ceremony in conjunction with the Sultan of Perak’s 62nd birthday would also be organised at all mosques in the state during Friday prayers.
Zahidi said a royal banquet would be held at Istana Iskandariah at 8pm tomorrow.
