‘No position or special role for Tok Pa in PPBM’
KOTA BARU: Jeli member of parliment Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, who joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), will not be given any high position or special role in the party.
Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Umno leaders who joined PPBM would not be given positions.
“For how long (the person will not be given a position), we will see. We (PPBM) accepted him because he is capable,” he said after attending a gathering with Pakatan Harapan leaders here yesterday.
Mustapa, known as Tok Pa, joined PPBM after he left Umno on Sept 18. He handed over his application form to Dr Mahathir, who is PPBM chairman, recently.
Commenting on his statement that Umno should be dissolved, Dr Mahathir said he told Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that its members would probably leave the party.
“I also told him if Umno members choose to join other parties in the government, they must support PH before a decision is made.”
