Sharp launches product range for next year
SHAH ALAM: Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (SEM) recently launched its new product range for next year, reaffirming the company’s focus on technology and innovation in line with its brand direction.
As one of the major player in the consumer electrical industry, Sharp has been a major innovator in the LED TV technology, particularly in the 8K segment.
Sharp said in a statement that the company’s direction in the segment goes beyond TV panel as it seeks partnerships with related parties to build up a series of value chain in 8K solution.
“This strategy will see Sharp’s imprint in various fields, particularly in industrial, security, medical, education, entertainment and broadcasting,” the statement added.
Sharp also announced plans to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) offering, with focus on bringing in products, services and platforms that are people-oriented, connecting homes and social systems.
It currently offers IoT-applicable flagship models for air conditioners and air purifiers, and further expansion will see the company launch small and beauty appliances in the near future.
Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) managing director Robert Wu said the company’s move to create an 8K ecosystem would be achieved through research and development (R&D), merger and acquisitions, and talent cultivation.
Sharp’s new line-up for 2019 includes seven new AQUOS 4K UHDR models, IoT-enabled air purifiers and an expanded refrigerator range.
Other products launched were the Ractive vacuum cleaner, the Healsio water oven and Healsio vacuum blender as well as the Plamacluster hair dryer and Plasmacluster hair iron brush.
At the launch, Sharp also took the opportunity to hand over its contributions to selected charities as part of its corporate social responsibility programme to support the local community.
The three charities were the House of Victory charity home, Joy Garden old folks home and Cheras home for special people.
