A CHILDREN’S SMARTWATCH

-

THE smartwatch comes in various designs and capabilities, but they mainly cater to adults. What about the children’s market? Is there a need for them to have a smartwatch strapped around their wrist? JOY Familytech thinks so, having launched its latest

Octopus Watch Motion Edition.

The watch carries the distinction of being the first iconbased watch that empowers children by teaching them good habits alongside the concept of time. Apart from that, there is also an integrated fitness tracker that further encourages them to be active.

This icon-based timepiece is suitable for those aged between 3 and 7 years, while the Octopus App will boast over 1,500 colourful icons alongside an easy schedule setup. It even has a built-in vibration motor that works silently to provide gentle reminders to the wearer, while the motion sensor keeps track of daily physical activity. I believe that it is not going to be as accurate as a regular fitness tracker, but it should be able to perform decently enough for a general reading.

Parents will also be pleased to know that the watch comes with enough space to store “In Case of Emergency” (ICE) information, where first responders or anyone else will be able to get in touch with the right people under such situations.

Available in shades of red and blue, the Octopus Watch Motion Edition will be accompanied by the Companion Nightlight Charging Station, making it more attractive for the little ones to be responsible for charging up the Octopus Watch Motion Edition each night before they go to bed.
