Thailand coach frustrated

-

Milovan Rajevac was frustrated with his Thailand team but credited Malaysia for their brave display as both teams drew 0-0 in Saturday’s AFF Cup semi-final first leg match in Bukit Jalil.

The Serbian said: “Malaysia played very well, they ran a lot and gave 120 per cent today (Saturday).

“We never planned to be defensive. The Malaysians were aggressive, they attacked a lot and wanted to score. The atmosphere as well as the pitch affected our play.

“We wanted to score at least a goal, but we lacked the concentration in finishing. It was very difficult to score but I am satisfied.

“I am confident we will perform better in the return leg (in Bangkok on Wednesday),” said Rajevac.

Thailand, the defending champions, were the highest scoring team in group stage with 15 goals and were expected to beat Malaysia on Saturday. But the team failed to spark against the motivated Malaysians.

“Of course, I will make changes in tactics for the return leg. It is our turn to play well in front of our fans,” he added.
