UNDERGRADUATE PIMP DETAINED IN RAID
24-year-old student from Cheras interacts with customers via WeChat
A24-YEAR-OLD human resources undergraduate, who acted as a “manager” for three prostitutes, was arrested in one of a few police raids on apartments in Lorong Minyak Gas and Jalan Post Office Lama here on Tuesday.
The second-year student of a private university was arrested near an elevator at an apartment block in Lorong Minyak Gas at 7.30pm by officers from the Kelantan police headquarters’ AntiVice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7).
Kelantan D7 staff officer Assistant Superintendent Mat Zol Ismail said the student, from Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, acted as a pimp for the women.
“Police seized an iPhone 5, a set of apartment keys and a bag containing RM1,900 from the man,” he said yesterday.
Following that, Mat Zol said, police arrested a 36-year-old woman from Bukit Mertajam, Penang, who was entertaining a male customer.
Police also arrested two women, aged 27 and 40, from Sarawak and Melaka at an apartment in Jalan Post Office Lama.
“The group’s modus operandi is to offer sex services through WeChat before meeting the customers in Kota Baru.
“Investigations revealed the three women were freelancing and moved from state to state, offering sex services at RM300 per session.
“Customers are required to pay a deposit after the negotiation process,” Mat Zol said.
He said the illegal activity was exposed during an undercover operation conducted by police officers.
“We confiscated sex lubricants, condoms, three mobile phones and RM2,925 cash, believed to have been earned by the three women.”
He said the case was being investigated under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
