Cultural Village in Bhubaneswar has been turned into a food and dance festival venue in conjunction with the ongoing World Cup. And drawing even netizens every night.

Situated about 1.5km from the Kalinga Stadium, the Cultural Village is lined up with at least 60 shops selling all kinds of food from western to local favourites.

There is also a super big screen that shows matches live while one enjoys the cuisine.

Lobsters, crabs and kebab look salivating in a booth set up by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan School of Hotel Management, run by second year students.

Jaya Rani, who aspires to be an international chef, said the carnival started on Dec 1 and will end on Dec 16.

“It’s being held in conjunction with the World Cup, and the cuisine here is a mix from all the 16 countries competing at the Kalinga Stadium.

“All the booths have been a hit with local as well as foreign tourists as they enjoy matches live on the big screen,” said Jaya Rani.

Even inside the Kalinga Stadium, as matches are being played, there is a big screen set up in an empty space for those who prefer to watch with a running commentary.

The 15,000-seat stadium has been full for all the World Cup matches so far, with many more watching the two big screens while shopping for merchandise as well as enjoying mouthwatering food.
