MPIRE Asia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Foton vehicles in Malaysia, has opened its first 3S centre for the Chinese brand in the country.

Mpire said it was committed to develop and expand the Foton brand in the country.

“The 3S Foton Centre at Temasya Shah Alam Industrial Park is our commitment to offer an efficient and reliable one-stop service centre featuring the latest modern technology and state-of-the-art equipment,” said Mpire Auto Group managing director Datuk Billy Goh at the launch of the 3S centre, here, on Saturday.

The launch was graced by Malaysia’s special envoy to China Tan Kok Wai.

Also present were Malaysian Automotive Association president Datuk Aishah Ahmad, Foton International Asia Pacific executive vice-president Gao Ming and Mpire Auto Group chief executive officer Lau Yit Mun.

Two new variants of the Foton van — the View C2 and View CS2 — were also launched.

The View C2 is powered by an Isuzu 4JB1 turbo diesel engine, while the View CS2 uses the Cummins ISF diesel engine capable of producing 147hp and 330NM of torque.

Both engines come with sophisticated eco-friendly technology, in addition to complying with Euro 4 standards.

In terms of safety, both vans are equipped with the Bosch 4-Channel Anti-Lock Brakes and electronic brake power distribution system for safer driving.

“The one-the-road prices for the View C2 and View CS2 are RM83,888 and RM143,888, respectively, excluding insurance but come with a five-year, or 150,000km, warranty.

“We are aiming to sell 1,200 units of View C2 and View CS2 next year,” said Goh.

He said under the promotion campaign, the first 100 customers would receive Global Positioning Systems and internal cameras, as well as road tax fee waiver for the first year

It will also offer free servicing for either the first two years or 50,000km, as well as replacement for the first four tyres within 18 months of purchase.
