Itwas not only an experience for the children, but it was also an experience for us to be a part of the children’s life, and it will be a day for us to remember.

It has been our vision, together with our parent company . Tradewinds Corporation Bhd, to give back to community and this event is in line with Hotel Istana’s annual community project programmes.

This is the second year that Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur has embarked on the“Wish Upon A Star”project as our Christmas corporate social responsibility event, and every year, we will choose a different children’s home to share the spirit of Christmas with.

This year, we decided to share this joyful day with Rumah Ozanam. Since the end of November, our Christmas tree at the lobby has been decorated with the wishes of the children from Rumah Ozanam. Hotel guests and associates were encouraged to sponsor or buy a Christmas gift for each child, as Christmas is a time for giving and sharing.

For those who wished to donate in cash, there was a donation box at the reception counter.

A Christmas buffet lunch was arranged for the afternoon. For entertainment, the children put on a dance show, while a clown entertained the children with balloon sculptures. After a hearty lunch, a magician dazzled the children with his performance, which was enjoyed by the children very much as their laughter filled the air.

While some children were mingling with our management and associates, the rest participated in games organised by Hotel Istana’s human resource team. We also prepared a birthday cake for four children who celebrated their birthdays this month.

The children went home with Hotel Istana’s goodie bags and their Christmas gifts, not forgetting groceries and toiletries donated by wellwishers.

Rumah Ozanam Petaling Jaya was established in 1987, and it caters to underprivileged children aged 5 to 16.
