WKL Eco Earth set to enter 3 new markets

- Suffian A Bakar

PETALING JAYA: WKL Eco Earth Sdn Bhd is expected to launch maiden forays into Vietnam, Thailand and India this year, following its success in China.

WKL Eco Earth is the world’s first air-conditioning manufacturer to use an eco-friendly airconditioning system with proprietary heat emission control technology.

Chief executive officer Dr Low Wai Koon said talks with representatives from the three countries were expected to be finalised before Chinese New Year, which would allow its products to be marketed there in the first half of the year.

“There are two aspects in the negotiations. Some want to be a major distributor and some want to buy our intellectual property from us,” he said after the launch of the company’s new research centre and production plant, here, on Saturday.

It also launched three new airconditioning models, namely Auto King, Indoor Queen and Jess Multipurpose.

Low said it was seeking at least RM26 million in revenue this year from the sales of at least 44,000 air-conditioning units.

“We expect to sell 30,000 units in China and another 14,000 locally. But it’s a conservative estimate as it does not take into account sales in the three new markets,” he said.

WKL Eco Earth’s eco-friendly air-conditioning system regulates the temperature and volume of heat transferred to the environment.

Its “e-Cond” system employs innovative hydro-refrigeration technology that integrates the evaporative cooling process with the refrigeration cycle to achieve optimal cooling performance at about ±23 °C.
