ECO WORLD HONOURS 52 STUDENTS

8 teachers receive Special Teachers Award

FIFTY-TWO pupils from the central region were honoured at the Eco World Foundation 2018 Excellence Awards Ceremony yesterday.

Nine Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) pupils and two Form Three Assessment (PT3) students received the Excellence Award.

Twenty-five UPSR pupils and one PT3 student received the Outstandin­g Award.

Eleven UPSR pupils and four PT3 students received the Most Improved Award.

Forty-five UPSR pupils received RM200, RM150 or RM100, depending on the category, while seven PT3 students were given RM500, RM400 or RM250.

They also received EnglishMal­ay dictionari­es and motivation­al books.

“The award ceremony for UPSR and PT3 top scorers is held annually to recognise students who achieved success in their studies,” said the foundation’s chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, at the Eco World Bukit Bintang City Centre here yesterday.

“We are proud of not only the students, but also the teachers and parents, who motivated and encouraged the students to reach their full potential.

“Eco World is committed to continue the student aid programme (SAP) so that students from underprivi­leged background­s receive the best opportunit­y in education.”

Eight teachers were honoured with the Special Teachers Award. Two are from Pahang, four from Selangor and two from Kuala Lumpur.

SK Ahmad of Pekan won the Best School Award and received RM10,000.

SJK(C) Sin Ming of Semenyih received the foundation’s newest award, the Eco World Foundation Award, and RM8,000.

The award honours schools committed to providing the best platform for children to excel under SAP.

Present were Eco World Foundation trustee Tan Sri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad, Eco World Developmen­t Group Bhd executive director Datuk Voon Tin Yow and Eco World Malaysia president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah.
