COMPANION ROBOT

-

GROOVE X’s all-new companion robot, Lovot, is a home robot that claims to stir up the owner’s instinct to love. It has plenty of advanced technology, including Emotional Robotics, and will be sold as a set of two units. Taking more than three years to develop with the concept of “A little love can change the world” being the primary driver, the Lovot companion robot attempts to overturn common assumptions concerning robots through the creation of a new partner for human beings.

Apart from Emotional Robotics technology, it also features touch sensors all over its body, as well as a six-layered eye display. You will not find the Lovot pottering around the home, cleaning up after your mess and vacuuming hairballs left by your cat, but rather, it would seek you out for attention (along with any other human beings who share your living space with). In fact, it will even shy away from people it does not ‘know’ based on the built-in algorithm. I suppose it operates on a similar level to simply being there for a friend in need without having to exchange a single word. I would even venture to go so far as to say that this is a mechanical and digital replacement for a good old fashioned pet, minus the annual vaccination, bathing and cleaning up chores.
