GroYield eyes growth in Indonesia

-

KUALA LUMPUR: GroYield Holdings Bhd is seeking to expand the distribution of its plant supplement that can raise latex yield at rubber plantations in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, India and China.

Chief executive officer Alan Chong said following the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Indonesian Rubber Research Institute (IRRI) last year, his team was following up on the authority’s testing of its technology.

IRRI deputy director Dr Thomas Wijaya acknowledged GroYield’s technology could potentially benefit the rubber industry.

Trees that were tested saw better latex yield, said Chong in a statement yesterday.

He said GroYield’s plant supplement was also able to cure trees suffering from the tapping panel dryness disease.

With IRRI’s eventual endorsement, Chong is hopeful of GroYield widening its plant supplement distribution throughout Indonesia.

He said its plant supplement was designed to nourish trees and shrubs. It also helps them to resist diseases without polluting the land.

“In other words, this plant supplement is environmentally-friendly. Although the process is simple, it does require specialised chemicals, an injector system and adequate knowledge of application techniques,” he added.
