PAS READY TO COOPERATE IN 1MDB MONEY PROBE
Party sec-gen asks those with information to come forward
PAS will give its full cooperation to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its investigation into allegations that some party leaders received RM90 million of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) money.
Bernama reported Pas secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan as saying in a statement yesterday that the party would hand over all documents if required, including bank account statements of the Pas Central committee.
“This is to prove that the allegations of Pas receiving RM90 million from 1MDB are a lie and slander.
“Pas also welcomes and call on any parties who claim to have information on the above allegations to come forward and provide names and details of those who allegedly received money, so the authorities can conduct an investigation ,” he added.
According to Takiyuddin, Pas was confident that the MACC, as an entity with integrity, would carry out its duties and responsibilities professionally with transparency.
Yesterday, the MACC had issued a statement confirming it had received a report on the RM90 million allegedly from 1MDB funds, which was channelled into the accounts of some Pas leaders.
According to the statement, a police report was made and referred to the MACC.
According to MACC sources, some individuals would be called up to assist in investigations into the allegations.
