MASkargo widens services with Unisys Digistics solutions

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The cargo division of Malaysia Airlines Bhd, MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd (MASkargo), will be using two cloud-based Unisys Digistics digital logistics solutions to make the airline’s cargo services available to a wider market and provide customers with visibility across the shipment lifecycle.

Under a five-year engagement signed in November last year, MASkargo would join the Unisys Digi-Portal e-commerce platform to promote its inventory to more than 25,000 buyers at forwarders, airlines, general sales agents and handlers over 140 countries.

It will also use the Unisys Digi- IQ to track, report and measure shipments — meeting and exceeding the worldwide cargo industry standards set by the International Air Transport Association’s Cargo iQ.

“Kuala Lumpur is a vital and growing cargo transit hub for Asia. This will help us provide better service and reliability to our customers” said MASkargo chief executive officer Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh.

“The two Digistics software-asa-service solution will provide MASkargo with additional agility, ability to generate new revenues and visibility to quickly take advantage of market opportunities,” said Unisys Asia Pacific commercial sector vice-president, Andrew Whelan.

MASkargo handles more than 30 customer airlines at its Advanced Cargo Centre, processing more than 800,000 airway bills per year.

Unisys has more than 55 years of experience providing innovative information technology solutions to the travel and transportation industry.
