KUALA TERENGGANU: A woman who died in an accident near Kampung Pengkalan Atap, Batu Rakit, Kuala Nerus early yesterday had joked with her son, who also died in the accident, that she would go away and not come back.

Salleh Tahir, 49, said his wife, Rozilawati Mustafa @ Razali, 43, arrived home from work later than usual about 8.30pm on Friday. When she got home, their youngest son, Muhammad Nashrullah, pestered her for milk.

The son’s repeated pleas left Rozilawati exasperated, and she said: “Tomorrow I want to go and will not come back anymore.”

Salleh told Bernama Rozilawati could have said this because she was tired.

“They left home about 9am yesterday. My wife asked me to look after the house and children,” he said when met at his house in Kampung Durian Mas, Manir here.

The accident that killed Rozilawati also claimed the lives of Rozilawati’s daughter, Nur Syazlien Syarizam Salleh, 21, son-inlaw Mohd Kharulinzam Jusoh, 38, and 9-month-old granddaughter Nur Khaira Aisyah Mohd Khairulinzam. Nur Syazlien and Khairulinzam’s other child, Muhd Khairul Haziq, 5, is being treated at the hospital.

The five bodies were buried at Kampung Durian Mas Muslim Cemetery about 4pm yesterday.
