Candidate to be named on Feb 14, says Muhyiddin

SEMENYIH: The Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Semenyih by-election will be announced on Feb 14.

The candidate is expected to be from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM).

“PH is ready to face the byelection. We will announce the candidate about 4pm on Feb 14. If I am not there, PPBM chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will announce it,” he said after a meeting with the Hulu Langat PPBM committee and village heads here.

Asked what criteria the candidate should fulfil, Muhyiddin said the candidate had to be handsome and sport a moustache, to laughter from newsmen.

“Other than that, we have to look at academic qualifications and other attributes.

“We have held many meetings... people want a local candidate. We will take that into consideration,” he said.
