THE BMW X3 hits the sweet spot in the BMW X series range — more spacious compared with the X1 and X2 but, at the same time, not as large as the X5, making it just about perfect for those who don’t need a large sport utility vehicle.
The third generation X3 runs on BMW’s TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to an 8-speed steptronic sport transmission.
The engine has a maximum output of 252hp and 350 NM of torque.
BMW claims that the locally-assembled X3 is able to complete the century sprint in 6.3 seconds and the top speed is rated at 240 kph.
With a length of 4,708mm, a width of 1,891mm, a height of 1,676mm and a wheelbase of 2,864mm, it weighs 1,848kg and has a 67-litre fuel-tank capacity and 550 litres of boot space.
